Relationship Skills Online Group Therapy

You know you want to work on your relationship and communication skills. You’ve done a little research - maybe read a book or followed some instagram accounts - and you’re still not clear on how to take what you’re learning and actually use it. You know you’re a good person but you don’t like how you show up in your relationship sometimes. You want help.

You want someone to help you see how you get in your own way. You’d love to communicate more clearly and with less arguments, you just don’t know HOW. You really are doing the best you can. And yet, you get told you’re the problem. That you need to be more clear or more open or more direct. Say what you mean but be tactful. Share how you’re feeling. But also be more calm, your emotions are overwhelming. You’re not sure where you’re going wrong, but you can’t seem to get it right.

Why online therapy groups for relationship skills?

  • Group therapy is perfect for people just like yourself, who want to learn and are facing challenges with applying what they learn in real life situations.

  • Group allows you to connect with other people facing similar problems. Sometimes just knowing you’re not alone makes all the difference!

  • Group therapy offers a low-stakes and safe setting where you can practice your new skills. Athletes don’t wait until the championship game to try a new skill, they practice and practice. And yet, with relationships, we think we can just start something new in high-stakes conversations in our most important relationships. Group therapy gives you chance to practice something new before you talk to your partner about important issues.

  • Group is also a great place for people who want to improve their relationship and have a partner who won’t participate in therapy with them.

  • Group therapy for relationship skills is great for people who want to work on their communication skills and are not currently partnered.

  • Online groups are convenient and allow you to participate from wherever you are in California.

  • Absolutely! We have designed our groups so that couples can participate together or alone. If you’re not in the same group, the men’s and women’s groups will follow similar or complementary topics each week. However, we know that participating together doesn’t work for everyone.

Our group therapy sessions can still benefit your relationship if your partner isn’t participating. When you change your part of the pattern, you invite your partner into change with you. And work on yourself will benefit you both.
