What To Expect From a Couples Therapist on The No Supervision Podcast

On an episode of the No Supervision Podcast, I had a chat about being a couples therapist and what people can expect when they start considering couples counseling. With stats showing that 50% of marriages end up in divorce and countless relationships hitting rough patches every day, Dr. Thomas Hughes felt that there was a real need for support in this area and invited me to shed some light on what the actual process of couples counseling entails.

During the podcast, I got into why couples counseling is worth considering when things get rocky in a relationship. Drawing from my experience in the field, I discussed the ups and downs of relationships that couples might face, and what they can do to weather the storms together. I wanted to give listeners a peek behind the curtain of counseling, busting any myths or worries they might have about reaching out for help.

I also talked about the role of couples therapists like me in helping couples communicate better, understand each other more deeply, and find ways to strengthen their bond. It's all about creating a safe space where people can open up, work through their issues, and come out the other side with stronger, healthier relationships.

Overall, my goal on the podcast was to show that couples counseling isn't something to be scared of—it's a positive step towards building a happier, more fulfilling relationship. By keeping it real and sharing some insights from my own journey in counseling, I hope to inspire listeners to consider reaching out for support when they need it most.
