Yes. Emotional distance is one of the most common concerns couples face. Therapy helps identify the underlying causes of disconnection and provides tools to rebuild closeness, trust, and emotional intimacy.
You don’t have to wait until your conflict is out of control or one of you is considering divorce. Getting help at the emotional disconnection phase is vital. You’ll need fewer sessions to get results than if you wait for things to get even worse.
-
Yes. We help couples facing serious challenges, including ongoing conflict, trust issues, and relationship crises. Marriage counseling provides professional guidance to help you stabilize your relationship and determine the best path forward. If you’re ready for real change in your relationship, you might also consider a two-day couples retreat to jumpstart your progress.
-
Yes! We take this very seriously. All therapy sessions are confidential. Your privacy is protected according to professional and legal confidentiality standards.
There have been lots of changes in the mental health field in the last few years as new technologies have become available. Some of these companies aren’t run by therapists and don’t take protecting client data seriously. At Inland Empire Couples Counseling, we are very careful about which technologies we partner with, doing our best to ensure we can maintain your privacy according the ethical duties of our profession.
-
Soon! We pride ourselves in providing excellent care to the people who work with us. We don’t overwork or overbook our therapists. What that means is that once you decide to work with us, you will be able to see your therapist every week. And first appointments can usually be booked within about a week of your consultation. Contact us to schedule your free consultation and begin the process of strengthening your relationship.
-

Yes. Many couples use therapy to address problems early, improve communication, and rebuild connection, which can help prevent separation or divorce. Addressing problems early is the most effective way to prevent divorce. If one or both of you are considering divorce, we can still help. Discernment counseling helps walk you through the decision to stay together or separate. And if you want to stay together, we will work with you for as long as it takes to get your relationship stable and satisfying again.
-
Your first session with start with a discussion of what each of you wants for your relationship. Then we’ll discuss the problems, your relationship history, and how you manage conflict. It’s important to start with what you want so that your therapist can guide you there. If we don’t have a clear sense of what you’re working toward, we can end up spending all our sessions endlessly talking about problems. And that won’t get you anywhere except feeling more stuck!
Your second session will be split in half, with each of you spending some time individually with your therapist. We get to know you as an individual and you get a chance to talk to us about any issues that are hard to discuss in front of your partner.
In the third session you’ll work together to set priorities for your future sessions, so that you can all have your energies focused on the same issues getting you results as quickly as possible. You’ve probably already experienced how frustrating is is when you and your partner are trying to solve different problems at the same time. We don’t want to repeat that in therapy.
Then you get to work! You’ll stay in weekly sessions with us until you’ve reached your goals or are far enough along that you know you can get the rest of the way without our help.
Some couples can see results in as little as 5 sessions and some stay with us for a year or more. We’ve been in business for 10 years, and our data shows that most people who get make meaningful progress toward their goals stay with us for 4 months of weekly therapy (about 16 sessions).
