Relationship Skills: Men’s Group Therapy

You’re a good guy. You know it. You know your heart. You know how hard you try in your relationship, how much you just want your partner to know that you care, how much you want to make your partner’s life easier. And somehow, despite your best efforts, you’re not effective in your relationship.

Your partner doesn’t seem to understand you. You get feedback that you need to listen more or not try to fix things so much or say more of how you’re feeling. You try. And you don’t understand how your partner still doesn’t see you and how dedicated you are to your relationship.

You want someone to help you see how you get in your own way. You’d love to communicate more clearly and with less arguments, you just don’t know HOW. You really are doing the best you can. And yet, you don’t seem to have the right tools to fix the problem in front of you. You’re not sure where you’re going wrong, but you can’t seem to get it right.

 FAQs about Men’s Group Therapy

  • You pay one flat fee of $680 for your group therapy experience. This includes all 8 two-hour groups and your 1:1 intake with the group therapist.

  • Therapy groups allow you to learn not only from a therapist but also from your peers. Sometimes knowing you’re not the only person with a particular challenge makes all the difference!

Group therapy for relationship skills allows you an opportunity to learn new skills and to practice them in a safe, low-stakes environment.

Just like some people learn better reading and others listening, group therapy gives another way to learn and grow. Some people get what they need in individual therapy, some in couples, and some in groups.

  • We encourage you to do everything you can to attend every session. You will get the most of your experience.

If you aren’t able to attend one session, please inform your therapist in advance. They won’t be waiting on you to start or checking up to make sure you’re okay if they know in advance you won’t attend that week.

Your fee for the group therapy experience includes all the session. No refunds will be issued for missed sessions.

  • Absolutely! We have designed our groups so that couples can participate together or alone. If you’re not in the same group, the men’s and women’s groups will follow similar or complementary topics each week. However, we know that participating together doesn’t work for everyone.

Our group therapy sessions can still benefit your relationship if your partner isn’t participating. When you change your part of the pattern, you invite your partner into change with you. And work on yourself will benefit you both.

  • Yes, please! The time between relationships is a perfect time to work on your relationship and communication skills. And we know that relationship skills are good for ALL kinds of relationships, not just romantic ones.

  • The rules are pretty simple.

    1. Confidentiality. We ask you to respect the privacy of other group members and not share any personal information outside the group.

    2. Show respect for the group therapist and other group members

    3. Log in on time for your group sessions and plan to stay for the full scheduled time

    4. Attend as many sessions as possible for the most benefit to you and others. You become a valuable member of the group community. When you miss a session, others miss you.

  • Groups will have 5-8 participants each
